Malam Jabba Ski Resort

In Khyber pakhton khan, there is a place called Sawat valley where this resort is situated.

This largest resort is located 40 kilometers east of Saidu Shareef, 314 kilometers northwest of Islamabad and located in Malam Jabba village.

The resort was constructed with the help of the Austrian government funding, and the Pakistani government built a building with 50 rooms.

The Austrian ambassador was a good friend of the vale of Sawat, and he, for the very first time, suggested a ski resort to be built in Malam Jabba.

It was inaugurated in 1999 when the government of Pakistan won the case to run the resort.

Many festivals and survival camps are arranged to boost the interest of locals and foreigners.

The facilities this resort provides are two ski runs which are 800 meters, four rebuilt chairlifts, five-star hotels with sixty rooms, three-star hotels with 25 rooms.

An ice skating rink with is under construction, trekking trail in Ghorband valley which is now opened, tracking trail in Sabonev valley opened now and zip-lining.

These are the activities which locals as well as foreigners enjoy there.
This spot is one of the remarkable and tremendous tourist attractions.

Best time to visit Malam Jabba

The Weather in Malam Jabba is very delightful, and rainfall makes the view loveable and fresh.

The best time to visit Malam Jabba is from April to October. In summers, the temperature goes to 31 degrees C and in winters to 11 degrees C.

Islamabad to Malam jabba

Islamabad to Malam Jabba is the very fantastic path. First, we have to get on Islamabad –Peshawar motorway and move to the Sawat expressway.

Follow the route to katlang road, continue katlang road for a few kilometers, and get on sowari mingora road.

Now finally get on malam jabba road and drive Malam jabba.

Baltoro Glacier

One of the largest glaciers outside the polar region in Shigar District Gilgit- Baltistan is 63 km in length and is one of the finest tourist attractions.

It gives rise to the Baltoro River, which falls into the Indus River.

This glacier is in Karakoram Range, and a lot of mountains are near this glacier.

Some of them are: broad peak, K2, mitre peak, snow dome, Masherbrum, Gasher-brum3, gasherbrum2, gasher-brum4, gasherbrum1 and so on.

Islamabad to Baltoro Glacier

The breathtaking and fantastic tour to Baltoro Glacier starts with a flight to Sakrdu and passes through kharpcho fort, and the K2 museum.

Then get on a jeep to Indus and shigar river valley to a place called Askoli.

By reaching K2 base camp, the journey to Baltoro glacier starts.

Naltar valley

The Naltar valley is 34 kilometers away from the city of Gilgit in Gilgit Baltistan. 

This area is well known for its five lakes: satrangi lake, Bodo Lake, Halima Lake, Pari Lake, Dhudia Lake and blue lake.

There is an 18MW hydropower plant working since 2007 and some smaller plants.

Two more power plants of 16 and 14 MW have been under construction since 2019.

There is a protected area for wildlife called Naltar wildlife sanctuary, few markhors, ibex, red fox,

Grey wolf, brown bear, snow leopard, leopard cat, 35 bird species, some other animals and a variety of flora are found.

In Naltar valley, there is a garden known as the green garden, and also a ski resort. Both are the best tourist attractions.

Snow Lake

This Snow Lake is a glacial basin that is 16,000 feet high from sea level, 10 miles wide and is in Karakoram Range in Gilgit Baltistan.

It was named Snow Lake by the first foreigner Martin Conway in 1892. Outside the polar region, it is one of the largest glacier systems.

Although it is very difficult to reach there, it is the fantastic and finest place to visit for tourists.

From Islamabad to snow lake

First, we have to get on jeep or any car and reach Sakrdu. From Sakrdu move toward Askoli and hen toward K2.

After reaching K2, trek northwest up the Biafo glacier to go to snow lake. Descending way is different.

One will move from Hunza valley to Gilgit and from Gilgit to Islamabad by air or road.

The tour is the most beautiful and breathtaking ever.

Rakaposhi

In Gilgit Baltistan, are the never-ending and phenomenal Karakoram elevation, and Rakaposhi is one of them also, called as mother of mist Dumani.

It is the 27th highest peak globally and the only mountain with 5000 meters of height between base camps and summit.

Mike Banks and Tom Patey 1958, from a British expedition, were the first to summit Rakaposhi.

Minister of northern areas inaugurated Rakaposhi as a community park.

There are also many endangered animals found as markhor, snow leopard, wolves, and others.

Islamabad to Rakaposhi

The trip to Rakaposhi is very appealing and beautiful. The trip starts with a drive from Islamabad to Chilas and a night’s stay there.

The next day moves to Gilgit. From the very next morning, move to juglot village by a jeep ride and trek to Rakaposhi base camp enjoy the climbing.

Now the way to go back to Islamabad is to go to Gilgit by jeep and then to Chilas and finally to Islamabad.
