It is the last station of pakistan in Neelam valley.It is also the nearest location from where Neelam River enters Pakistani territory and becomes River Neelum.In 1998 it had a population of 720.

The last station of Neelum Valley is Taobut and its last point of Pakistan beauty in Kashmir. It has a sever season and heavy snow in winter, and winter season continue about 6 months starting from October to April end.Often there are no signs of path due to land sliding and flooded water streams. In summer it is a worth place for tourist to visit.

The Neelam river enter the premises of Azad Kashmir flowing down through the Taobut. It’s the very first place where we can find population while descending down the Neelam Valley along beautiful The Neelam River. Some of the tourist places of Neelum Valley are situated in the range of Line of Control (LoC),Therefore, sometimes it becomes difficult to visit these areas. So before visiting the valley, the visitors are required to get permission from concerned department.
Taobat is accessible from Kel by unmetalled road. There is a motel of AJK Tourism and Archeology Department and a small number of hotels.
